Facebook.....

Wow..where do i begin...

Facebook...how can something so good, become something so bad? Such a good thing: being able to find old friends, new friends, family. And then such a bad thing: People telling us everything they are doing throughout the entire day, how they are "so mad at..." so and so, oh and the rediculous drama people always find themselves in. People have created such an arterial world for themselves, that they have a hard time living in the real one. You wouldn't dare say half the stuff to someone in real life as you would on Facebook, (people are so brave on the internet) and also...whats with the friends thing...so you have all these friends on Facebook, but would you even say hi to half of them if you saw them in person...probably not. And what is with all the attention whores, who post things just for attention, or to get a rise out of people...i dont get it...

I just dont get how we as a society, have become so messed up from "Social Networking" ...i mean, some people dont even have real relationships anymore...they can be whoever they want...on the internet...

And now we have it on our cell phones....not only can we be anti-social at home, but now we can do it on the go! We've got texting, twitter, facebook, myspace, etc, etc. Now dont get me wrong, I love technology, but some people cant handle it. If you cant drive across town without sending 5 text messages...you have a problem. If something interesting happens during your day, and the first thing you thing of is.."Oh I cant wait to put this on Facebook." ...you have a problem. If your phone or computer breaks and you say..."OMG my life is over"...you have a problem. It has become an addiction for people, they cant be away from it for to long, before they start having "withdraw" symptoms....

I know there are some people out there that can handle themselves...but there are way to many people out there that can't....I know its hard to believe, but at one time, there was no internet, no cell phones, or texting....and people actually had to talk in PERSON! They had to tell there problems to actually people, and if they had a problem with someone...they had to tell that person to there face.

So saying all that to say this....People need to keep real relathionships "real" and not just across the internet. People need to talk things out with people in person. And lastly....if you need attention....get a dog....

The "Substitute Teacher Effect"

Monday, March 8, 2010

Ok, so we've all experienced this...You're in class, and you have a substitute teacher...alright, so he/she's acting real cool just kinda letting you do what you want, and the some idiot/idiot's decide to take advantage of this situation, and act like morons. Just goofing around, being real aholes. Next thing you know, the substitute's gotta lay the smack down, and start enforcing rules...blah,blah....So that is why i call it the "Substitute Teacher Effect". Now lets put this in a real world example....

So im driving the other day, and I see some teachers on the side of the road, and there picketing. What are the picketing....more money for the schools...sounds good right. So i honk and wave, good for them, they deserve it. Later, I turn on the news, and see some douche bags, "rioting" in the city, about pretty much the same thing....running on the freeway, blocking the streets...etc. Now that is an example of, most of the "class" being cool and behaving, because they have freedom of speech..etc, and then you have the idiots, that just gotta ruin it for everyone, taking advantage of the situation...hence the "Substitute Teacher Effect"

Intro.

My name is Garrett (my friends call me Gee). Im 24 years old, married and live in Dublin, CA. I am creating this blog, to give people an inside look at my brain. I sometime's have a weird way of thinking about things, and my brain is constantly thinking, analyzing, proccessing, and creating (i think this is why i have insomnia sometimes). I am going to be posting about things I think about, dream about, and cant stand about (not sure if thats proper english). Feel free to let me know what you think! Ne ways, until we meet again....
